We had a last minute toonie drive at school for an extremely needy family (not from our school but a friend of one of our students). I talked with the boys Monday morning and explained why this was going on at school and was all set to give them my toonies from my wallet. Ethan suddenly pipes up that he's going to give him the five dollar bill that is in his piggy bank (from some extensive yard work the boys did one Saturday), next thing I know Owen's dashing for his and doing the same thing.
They do not come into possession of any great amount of money except Christmas and birthdays and that goes straight into their bank accounts. So for them to even have a bill of any kind in their piggy banks is pretty rare and that they felt led to give up this treasure for someone who would potentially get nothing for Christmas this year was pretty great to see. Makes a mama proud.

That's fantastic! What fine young men you are raising!
It's good to share...for the kids and grown ups alike. Monkey see monkey do! You must be 'do-ing' the right thing!
What generous young lads you have.
makes a nana proud too
