Ethan mowed the lawn. He had been asking for a while and while we knew that he could do it, we questioned letting an 8 year old be in charge of a gas powered machine. Eeek! As we thought he would, he did a great job and was desperate to do it again before the grass was even long enough to warrant it! B and our neighbour stressed to him that this was a HUGE privilege and that most boys wouldn't be allowed to do it. He fell hook, line and sinker and wants to do it all the time. Fine by me! One less chore to do.
Next...and this may or may not be a big deal to you but it was in our house! The boys were allowed to go to sleep in the same bed. We had tried this (with much hesitation) a couple times in the summer but it ended very quickly with them separated and in their own beds. Last night was different. Owen promised they'd go to sleep without a peep. And sure enough they did!
Aren't they so angelic when they sleep?

Your lawn is small and flat so with proper supervision I'd say go for it if he's keen!

Keri and i slept in the same bed until she got married and it didn't hurt us any... at least I don't think it did :)
Good job on the mower... it's handy to have boys :)
I could use an eager young lad like that to mow all of my grass!
